CANsmart™ Controller for BMW R1200LC & R1250 Series '13-'24
Harness the flexibility and intelligence of your BMW motorcycle's CAN bus electrical system to make installation of accessories drastically easier with the new and improved DENALI CANsmart™ Controller GEN II.
The DENALI CANsmart™ Controller provides plug-n-play installation and integrated control of up to four accessories to enable dozens of customizable settings that can be controlled right from the BMW "WonderWheel" or the CANsmart™ Accessory Manager Software.
The CANsmart's four circuits are preprogrammed to connect and independently control two sets of DENALI 2.0 lights, a SoundBomb horn, and our B6 auxiliary brake light.
Gen II - More Features, More Power, More Versatile
Unlike the Gen I CANsmart, all four circuits of the Gen II can provide a full 10 amps of continuous power and each circuit can be configured to run any accessory type. The maximum power draw for the whole unit remains at 30 amps continuous. The Gen II also features two new auxiliary light settings. You can now modulate your auxiliary lights for added conspicuity, and set your left and right side lights to independently cancel when you activate your corresponding turn signal.
Features
- High/Low Sync - Set auxiliary lights to switch between a programmable high/low setting with the factory high beam switch.
- ON/OFF and Dim - Independently control two sets of lights ON/OFF and change intensity level (for both day and night) right from your original vehicle switches.
- Modulate Lights - Set auxiliary lights to modulate to increase your visibility to other motorists.
- Flash to Pass - Need to get someone's attention? Pulse your high beam switch three times and your auxiliary lights will strobe three times fast.
- Cancel With Turn Signal - This feature cancels the corresponding auxiliary light when you turn your turn signal on preventing powerful auxiliary lights from overpowering your signal.
- Inverse Flashing With Hazards - This features flashes your auxiliary lights inversely to your hazard lights, increasing visibility during road side emergency's.
- Plug & Play Horn Installation - Quickly and easily connect high power aftermarket horns like our SoundBomb™ without having to add an additional harness or relay.
- Strobe with Horn - With this feature selected the CANsmart™ software will automatically strobe your auxiliary lights when you sound your horn. This feature works whether you have the factory horn or SoundBomb™ horn installed.
- Deceleration Activated "Smart Brake" Technology - The CANsmart™ reads vehicle speed in real time to activate your auxiliary brake light during deceleration before you even touch the brake. You can adjust the sensitivity and minimum speed at which the Smart Brake Feature will activate.
- Flash Pattern Braking - The CANsmart™ provides four different flash patterns that make our super bright auxiliary brake lights even noticeable to motorists behind you. You can set auxiliary brake lights to only flash under hard braking, flash continuously as your brake is applied or flash four times rapidly then hold steady (California legal flash rate).
- Circuit Function Selector - The Circuit Function Selector in the CANsmart software will let you run any accessory of your choice on any of the four circuits. Click on a circuit icon to open the drop down menu and make your selection from the list of available circuit functions.
- Switched Power Source - The CANsmart™ provides a universal "accessory" option which simply gives you clean switched 12V power. That means whatever accessory you connect to this circuit will turn on and off with your ignition.
- Delay Time Out - You can also set the accessories on this circuit to have a delayed time out. This will keep them powered for up to 30 seconds after your turn off your bike.

fantastic product, my R1200GS 2013, feels like a different bike at night. people don't believe that it is 13 years old and even less now. I repeat a fantastic product. I recon you call Denali customer service direct and don't buy in stores, as I was recommended the wrong bus and had to buy again. The sales rep which advised me on the web chat did an excellent job.

Great lights! Now I can see at night! Difficult install on this bike, but a great customer service experience when I called in!
Easy to install and easy to program.
CANsmart is a true Plug&Play device, downloaded the software & was able to configure all my devices, wiring was easy & plenty of space to store the device underneath the seat, used foam to suppress possible vibrations & 3M tape for the USB port - just in case
Saw how well this worked when I added it to my other bike so had to add it to the RT as well. Such an easy way to add accessories.
East install instructions need to be more specific. Plugs should be lettered or numbered for specific no mistake installation. Lots of comments on lights from other riders this past weekend ride Will be showing them off at Bikeweek this weekend in Daytona Beach. Rock solid mounting brackets add confidence to the look and steadfast zeroing of the hot spot beams on the road ahead with my super bright hi beams too. Outstanding product.
Just know, we all have questions in our endeavors, and the D team provides support and solutions off the chart. G2G

Purchased CANsmart with D4 and B6 lights. Everything packaged well and arrived in good condition. Installation and setup was very easy with various options for operation. Very well please with light output and Denali products.

Installation is straight forward. Wires are too long for the application and should be cut to length for each application. Works as advertised. Caps for the lead ends that are not used are not provided. Did not see an option to purchase caps either maybe I missed it on the website.
I enjoy the Denali setup! I also enjoy the functionality of these lights. I have since (this video) added the T3s to the front and rear. The difference in riding at night is astounding! And the rear flashing brake lights get drivers attention as soon as they start flashing!! I get a LOT more space when I brake now! And the D7s are dipped toward the ground at 10% to not blind oncoming traffic. But at 100% (even angled down) they provide so much light that it’s like riding during the day.

Not only that the install is simple and quick, the customer service is First Class! I want to make sure that my lights configurations set in a particular way. The two representatives that I’ve talked to were very knowledgeable and patient to assist! Made the whole experience AMAZING!

I love the CanSMART controller. I have used one now both my F850GSA and now a new R1250GSA (photo and video attached). The installation is straightforward, easy to read and understand directions along with Denali/TT support staff; I’ve used both. I used the CanSMART to power B6 tail lights shown, but also D4 Aux lights and DRL’s as well. Lastly, you can find lots of YouTube videos of installations and all kinds of adventure bikes. I’ve used the software as well, but have always gone back to the default settings. Maybe the Sound Bomb is next….

Love the Denali Cansmart, the B6 Brake light and the Soundbomb! I've also connected my Weiser Technic Turn Indicators Front and Rear to the CanSmart. To be able to plug in my computer and control all these elements is amazing. Also makes addition of components so easy and adds less fused connections to my already crowded battery compartment. Plus the support received from Jesse and the customer support team is unparalleled! You can really tell that they ride bikes and really care about the product and supporting customers. Replaced my Gen I controller from 7 years ago on my 2018 BMW R1200RS… The Gen II is a little larger in length but everything else is the same. Easy installation and plug and play, as advertised. I use mine to control my D2 light pods and B6 brake light for visibility. A rider friend refers to my light pods as “landing lights”. I have no complaints with my Denali system and feel I have a lot more visibility than without. Would I recommend it, yes. Is it a bit pricey, yes. Does it make you more visible and illuminate more in front of you, absolutely!
It was easy to install minus having to find where the can bus connection would be. That's due to not having update pictures for the newer bike I have.
Only using the horn circuit for now. Sure beat getting to the horn, and finding room for the extra wiring and relay. Future expansion will be really easy.
everything ok - except one cable was broken - the male connector was copletely broken, so that i cannot use the cable
I have used Can Smart in my 2014 BMW R1200. Now with my 2024 GSA 1250. It still works great!
Easy to connect but didn't see instructions for the programming software. I may have missed it. But it would have been nice to see all the options.
Easy install, easy setup with software, very bright lights and loud horn!
The introduction of the EZ-CAN to my BMW r1250R has raised an issue. With only an accessory attached to the EZ-CAN, the BMW reports that the license plate light is not working. I moved to a different circuit and the error cleared, is now a sometimes error. I'm hoping that the error goes away, or becomes constant so it is easier to track down.

Great product that I have changed because my last HexZcan was damage by mositure weather. It is more easy to configure in the laptop than Hex Ezcan
