    Kawasaki Versys 1000

Kawasaki’s version of a street-oriented adventure-touring motorcycle is named for a concept: versatile system. It is a good way to describe the Versys, which has the soul of a sportbike (namely the Ninja 1000) and the practicality of a touring bike, without having to be too much of either.

The latest version of the Versys 1000, called the SE LT+, comes standard with electronically controlled suspension, lean-angle-informed traction control and ABS, as well as all-LED lighting with sequential cornering lights that shine into the turns. That’s a nice upgrade from the typical motorcycle headlight, but DENALI can take your Versys several steps up the brilliance ladder. An often ignored benefit of high-performance LED motorcycle lighting is conspicuity—being seen by others. DENALI has a range of DRL, daytime running lights, that can be bolted to the Versys 1000’s fender in minutes and provide your choice to two intensities and two colors, white or amber. A matching B6 tail light provides increased conspicuity to the rear. If you’ve ever worried about being rear-ended, your Versys 1000 needs one of these.

Being seen from the front—as well as shining a powerful beam way down the road—is what DENALI does best. Options for the Versys 1000 SE LT+ include the impressive D7 motorcycle driving light kit, a 14-LED beast that puts out more than 15,000 lumens from two compact, temperature-managed light pods with an adventure-rated beam pattern that lets you see obstacles more than 1500 feet down the road, but that still has a beam width of 200 feet. If there’s one motorcycle auxiliary light that does everything, it’s the D7. Other choices include the D4, with four 10-watt Cree LEDs and a choice of three beam patterns—Spot, Spot-Hybrid, and True-Hybrid—giving you the option of spraying light near the front tire, way down the road, or both. Also compatible with the Versys 1000 is the new compact S4 light, with more than 6100 lumens per pair and a beam distance of 540 feet.

DENALI also makes several mounts for the Versys 1000 line, including a frame mount for the 2015-2019 models that can carry any of DENALI’s pod-style lights. Of course, there are also fender mounts compatible with the lighter-weight lights—DM, D2, S4—as well as Bar Clamp mounts that can be used on fork tubes or engine guards. We also have a dedicated SoundBomb horn mount for all the current Versys 1000 models from 2015 on. That’s what we call a versatile system.
